The May 2022 revision preview described the following topics considered and revised by VDA QMC:

Five elements retained in the May 2022 revision preview

1. The A, B and C classification system for the overall assessment and supplier rating.

2. The questionnaire structure, with audit questions covering process elements P2–P7.

3. The scoring model for individual questions: 10, 8, 6, 4 and 0 points, used to evaluate the extent to which a supplier meets each requirement.

4. The risk-based approach and turtle diagram for process analysis and assessment.

5. The existing downgrading principles, including red/yellow/green assessment and possible downgrading from A to B to C.

Changes discussed in the May 2022 revision preview

Software-related topics were considered in the questionnaire.
Content was aligned, particularly with VDA Automotive SPICE® and VDA Maturity Level Assurance (MLA).
Purchasing-related requirements were added to P3 and P4.
Guidance on conducting remote audits was added.
Chapter 4, Audit Process, was removed.
Chapter 8, Process Audit Services, was removed.
The glossary was moved to VDA QMC's online glossary.
The allocation of particularly significant, starred questions was partly revised.
Questions used for potential analysis were partly reallocated to support assessment of new suppliers.

Questionnaire revisions described in the preview

The questionnaire contained 59 questions: P2 = 6, P3 = 6, P4 = 9, P5 = 7, P6 = 26 and P7 = 5.
The content of 17 starred questions was revised.
Potential analysis used 35 questions.

The assessment thresholds for potential analysis changed.

Additional software-related requirements were integrated.

Purchasing requirements were addressed in P3 and P4.
