About the greenhouse gas inventory project

To fulfil its commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development, LS–VINA Cable & System Joint Stock Company implemented a greenhouse gas inventory project. This important project measures and manages greenhouse gases (GHGs) released into the atmosphere during the company’s manufacturing and business activities. ITVC Global, a reputable consultancy with extensive greenhouse gas inventory experience, was selected as the contractor for the project at LS–VINA.

With support from ITVC Global’s greenhouse gas inventory experts, the project was carried out over four months and completed in March 2023. It was verified with good results and high accuracy and reliability.

The importance of greenhouse gas inventories

Greenhouse gases such as CO2 (carbon dioxide) and CH4 (methane) are major contributors to the greenhouse effect, climate change and global warming. Awareness of the importance of inventorying and reducing greenhouse gases is increasing. LS–VINA’s greenhouse gas inventory project forms part of its wider efforts to limit adverse environmental impacts and build a sustainable future.

Project objectives

The greenhouse gas inventory project at LS–VINA has the following main objectives:

Accurately measure greenhouse gas emissions: The project will measure and accurately determine the greenhouse gases released into the environment through the company’s manufacturing and business activities. Accurate measurement provides the basis for effective reduction measures.
Analyse and assess greenhouse gas impacts: The project will analyse and assess the effects of greenhouse gases on the environment and human health. This helps the company better understand the importance of reducing emissions.
Design reduction measures: Based on measurement and analysis results, the greenhouse gas inventory project will propose and design greenhouse gas reduction measures to optimise the company’s production and operations.
Strengthen a shared commitment to environmental protection: The project will strengthen environmental awareness and the sense of responsibility among individuals and teams within the company for reducing greenhouse gases and protecting the environment.
