2. The process-element structure of the questionnaire, P2 to P7.
3. The individual-question scoring scale of 10, 8, 6, 4 and 0.
4. The risk-based process approach and use of the turtle model.
5. The underlying downgrade rules and classification approach.

Key changes

• Greater consideration of software-related topics.
• Alignment with Automotive SPICE and maturity-level assurance approaches.
• Purchasing-related requirements added to P3 and P4.
• Notes addressing remote audits.
• Removal of the former standalone audit-process chapter and service-process-audit chapter.
• Transfer of terminology to the VDA QMC online glossary.
