D. Ethics

D1) Business integrity

• D1.1 Workers who refuse to participate in bribery, corruption, extortion or embezzlement, or who disclose conflicts of interest, must not face demotion, penalties or other adverse consequences, even if their actions result in lost business.

D2) No improper advantage

• D2.1 Prevent bribes and improper advantages from being promised, offered, authorised, given or accepted. Investigate violations appropriately and apply sanctions.

D3) Disclosure of information

• D3.1 Prevent false reporting, falsification of records and concealment of information.

D4) Intellectual property

• D4.1 Prevent loss or unauthorised disclosure of intellectual property and business information belonging to the assessed organisation, its customers or its suppliers.

D5) Fair business, advertising and competition

• D5.1 Prevent inaccurate information from being communicated to the public.
• D5.2 Prevent collusion.

D6) Protection of identity and non-retaliation

• D6.1 Provide confidential channels for workers and suppliers’ workers to report suspected unethical conduct.
• D6.2 Prevent retaliation.

D7) Privacy

• D7.1 Prevent unauthorised disclosure of personal information.

D8) Responsible sourcing of minerals

• D8.1 Implement an adequate and effective conflict-free minerals sourcing policy and programme to provide reasonable assurance that purchases of 3TG minerals do not directly or indirectly finance or benefit armed groups responsible for serious human-rights abuses in the Democratic Republic of the Congo or an adjoining country.
