ITVC Energy Audit Procedure

An energy audit helps a company understand where energy is used and select improvement opportunities supported by evidence. ITVC's procedure is organised into four stages to help clients prepare and coordinate the work.

1. Kick-off and scope agreement

• Define the objectives, boundaries and systems to be surveyed.
• Agree on contact persons, personnel, equipment, timing and coordination arrangements.
• Discuss confidentiality requirements and the information to be supplied.

2. Audit preparation

• Collect energy bills, production data and equipment information.
• Conduct a preliminary analysis to identify areas requiring detailed investigation.
• Prepare forms, a measurement plan and arrangements for site inspections.

3. Site survey and analysis

• Work with operating personnel and survey the systems within the agreed scope.
• Take measurements, record operating conditions and cross-check data.
• Analyse current performance, identify saving opportunities and prepare preliminary calculations.

4. Reporting and action agreement

• Calculate the proposed measures and their technical and economic parameters in detail.
• Present a draft for the company to comment on and check the data.
• Finalise the report, recommend priorities and establish a monitoring plan.
