ISO 9001:2015 internal audit checklist

An ISO 9001:2015 internal audit checklist helps a business prepare questions, select records and document quality management system audit results. The material was compiled and updated by consultant Pham Xuan Canh and the ITVC Global consulting team.

Adapt the checklist to each process

• Clarify the inputs, outputs and person responsible for the process being audited.
• Link questions to quality objectives, risks and issues that have arisen.
• Select suitable records to check how the process operates in practice.
• Record evidence, findings and points requiring further verification.

After the audit

The audit team should present clear findings, discuss them with the responsible department and follow up action. A useful checklist should show what was examined and the evidence supporting each conclusion.
