About Fantastic International

Established on 28 October 2016, Fantastic International Co., Ltd. operated Workshops C3–C4 in the western section of Phu Thai Industrial Park, Phu Thai Town, Kim Thanh District, Hai Duong. It manufactured children’s toys made from cotton and fabric, including stuffed toys. To meet social responsibility requirements in the toy supply chain, the company introduced measures to improve working conditions, provide employee benefits and comply with requirements on labour, wages, social insurance and trade unions.

About ICTI CARE

The International Council of Toy Industries (ICTI) is an international toy industry association. The original article described its membership as national toy manufacturing associations from 20 countries, each representing toy brands operating within its own geographical area.

ICTI and its members committed to promoting toy safety standards, reducing or removing trade barriers, and advancing social responsibility through programmes addressing environmental issues, fair and lawful employment practices, and workplace safety.

Mission

To provide a centre for sharing information and discussing important industry trends and issues; promote safety standards; reduce or remove trade barriers; and advance social responsibility through programmes covering the environment, fair and lawful employment, and workplace safety.

Established: September 1975.

The original article described the ICTI social responsibility programme as having an Asian office in Hong Kong and headquarters in New York.

At the time of the original report, the programme was described as covering 1,500 certified factories in more than 30 countries.

What is ICTI CARE?

ICTI CARE (Caring, Awareness, Responsible, Ethical) was the toy industry’s ethical manufacturing programme, intended to ensure safe and humane working conditions for toy factory workers around the world.

Established by ICTI to provide a single, fair, comprehensive and consistent programme for monitoring compliance with the ICTI Code of Business Practices, ICTI CARE provided education, training and factory monitoring.

The programme initially focused on China, Hong Kong and Macau, described in the original article as producing approximately 80% of the world’s toys. It was intended to expand over time to other toy-producing countries.

Project results

With support from ITVC Global and the company’s own efforts, Fantastic International underwent an ICTI CARE assessment by SGS Vietnam. After the assessment, the ICTI CARE Foundation issued the company an ICTI Seal of Compliance.

ITVC congratulated Fantastic International on completing the project and contributing to Vietnam’s economy through strong social responsibility practices in the supply chain.
