About Better Work's factory assessment program:

Better Work's factory assessment programs measure compliance with international labor standards and Vietnamese labor laws. The objective of the assessment is to determine the current state of the plant at a specific time.

The audit program helps reduce the pressure on suppliers/contractors to undergo multiple social compliance audits in the supply chain - thereby saving time and costs for both parties. Better Work's compliance assessments aggregate brands' control activities, allowing them and factories to realign resources from auditing to solutions, correcting problems, and building capacity.

The assessment is carried out by two auditors representing Better Work and without prior notice to the factory. All assessments include worker interviews, union interviews, management interviews, document reviews, and direct factory observations.

After the assessment, the report will be sent to the factory in about 3-4 weeks. The factory will have seven days to review the report and provide feedback before the report is shared with customers. Reports will only be sent to customers who have been authorized by the factory to view the information.

Better Work uses the STAR information management system to collect, store, and analyze compliance and improvement data. This system allows businesses and customers to access reports about the business, including compliance with labor standards and actions taken.
