Key changes from VAP 7.0 to VAP 7.1

According to Pham Xuan Canh, ITVC Global's Technical Director and consulting and training specialist, the revision gave each section a more logical, specific structure and expressed requirements more clearly to help businesses understand and address them. The article highlighted the following changes.

Integrating management-system requirements

1. Structure: management-system requirements previously in Section E were incorporated into Sections A, B, C and D as A.M, B.M, C.M and D.M. The article identified four areas to be addressed in each section:

• Risk assessment and risk management
• Ethics control processes
• Communication
• Performance review and continual improvement

The change required organisations to address these four control areas within each of Sections A, B, C and D, emphasising their importance throughout the RBA requirements.

Regrouping requirements

2. Requirements in Sections B, C and D were grouped more closely. Four groups of management-system requirements from Section E were incorporated into the main sections.

The article reported that Section B moved from eight to seven requirements, Section C from eight to six, Section D from eight to six, and Section E from twelve to four.

Renaming Section E: supply-chain management

3. Section E was renamed and contained four items:

E. Supply Chain Management, previously E. Management System

In ITVC's assessment, the new name reflected the integration of management-system controls into Sections A, B, C and D, including risk assessment, ethical-compliance controls, communication, performance review and continual improvement in each area.

Alongside these structural changes, RBA also revised individual requirements to better reflect practical conditions.
