18 January 2015: consulting on ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory management and the OHSAS 18001 occupational health and safety management system.

On 18 January 2015, ITVC Global consultants surveyed the laboratory and production lines at Phuc Son Cement Plant. The two parties agreed on an implementation plan for ISO/IEC 17025 and the OHSAS 18001 occupational health and safety management system.

Two elements of the implementation plan

  • ISO/IEC 17025: focusing on testing laboratory competence and activities relating to test results.
  • OHSAS 18001: addressing occupational health and safety management in plant operations.

Using the survey as a basis for planning

Reviewing existing conditions helps define the scope, resources and coordination contacts. During implementation, the company needs to connect laboratory activities with production requirements and clearly assign safety responsibilities.

This article records activities in 2015. For implementation today, consult ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and ISO 45001:2018, which replaced OHSAS 18001.
