Guidance on applying TCVN ISO 9001:2015 and TCVN ISO 14001:2015

Publication of the national standards

On 31 December 2015, the Ministry of Science and Technology published the national standards TCVN ISO 9001:2015 and TCVN ISO 14001:2015. They were adopted as fully equivalent to the international standards ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015.

Application during the transition period

To maintain stable production and business operations and facilitate transition for organisations using TCVN ISO 9001:2008 and TCVN ISO 14001:2010, the ministry issued the following guidance, drawing on ISO and IAF transition guidance:

• Organisations, individuals and businesses could continue voluntarily applying TCVN ISO 9001:2008 until 30 September 2018 and TCVN ISO 14001:2010 until 14 September 2018.
• They were encouraged to transition to TCVN ISO 9001:2015 and TCVN ISO 14001:2015 where needed and when the necessary conditions were met.
• For bodies within the state administrative system, the appropriate edition of TCVN ISO 9001 was to be applied under the Prime Minister’s Decision 19/2014/QD-TTg dated 5 March 2014.
