ITVC GLOBAL · BUSINESS SERVICES
Businesses researching “wastewater discharge permits” should review the current environmental framework. Wastewater discharge requirements have been integrated into the environmental permit mechanism; separate permit and renewal instructions based on 2004–2005 documents should not be followed unchanged.
Review activity type, scale, waste streams, collection and treatment arrangements, receiving destination, operational status and existing records. A permit does not transfer the generator's wastewater treatment responsibility to the receiving destination.
Facilities with older permits or records should review their continued use, transitional provisions and operational changes. New, amended or reissued documentation is determined case by case.
Wastewater limits, parameters and monitoring requirements must be determined using the applicable technical regulations, conditions and specific permit. Do not assume that “Column A” applies to every discharge.
Operating arrangements should address actual capacity, treatment capability, incident controls and evidence of implementation.
Authority, timing and submission contents depend on current rules. Older flow-based authority tables and application forms should not be used as universal guidance.
See the Environment Authority's explanation of integrated environmental permitting and the 2026 consolidated implementing provisions for the Law on Environmental Protection. Check subsequent amendments and procedures at implementation.
