Vessel on hire / off hire inspection services

ITVC Global provides vessel on-hire and off-hire surveys to document condition and bunker quantities at delivery or redelivery. The scope is agreed with shipowners, charterers, operators or other appointing parties.

Condition and records review

The survey may cover the hull, cargo spaces, holds, hatch covers, weather decks, cargo cranes, watertight integrity, firefighting arrangements, machinery, communications and navigation equipment.

Relevant certificates, maintenance and performance records may be reviewed. Container-vessel surveys may also include an inventory of cargo securing equipment.

Bunker quantities

Bunker surveys determine fuel remaining on board at the agreed reference time. Tank measurements and relevant vessel data are used to calculate quantities, with adjustments for consumption or deliveries between the measurement and delivery or redelivery time.

Attendance arrangements

Surveys are normally planned in daylight at a port or anchorage. A one-day attendance may be suitable, subject to vessel size, access, scope and operations. The team uses agreed client instructions or ITVC checklists and report formats.

• Photographic evidence.
• Bunker measurements, calculations and the agreed reference time.

Attendance and acknowledgement of bunker figures are coordinated with the vessel's representatives. Report limitations and any inaccessible areas are recorded.
