TAPA membership registration

This article preserves the original TAPA AMERICAS membership information. Do not apply its old fees or conditions to TAPA APAC in Vietnam. Membership and certification are separate matters; confirm regional and programme rules.

TAPA brings together manufacturers, shippers, carriers, insurers, service providers, law-enforcement and government agencies facing cargo crime across transport supply chains. Members cooperate through information sharing, security standards and collaboration with public authorities.

Security departments and professionals can contribute as business partners and advisers. Participation in TAPA can develop knowledge that supports lower cargo losses, smoother supply-chain operations, customer convenience and satisfaction, reduced grey-market activity and protection of brand integrity.

Historical membership categories

Full voting membership

The original TAPA AMERICAS description covered businesses that manufacture, transport, sell, store, warehouse or insure goods at heightened risk of theft.

Associate membership

The original description covered: (a) public-sector personnel investigating losses or establishing security requirements for theft-targeted goods; (b) full-time students of criminology, law enforcement or logistics; (c) audit-company personnel; and (d) recognized or invited advisers to TAPA. This was described as non-voting membership without a membership fee. Check current eligibility directly with TAPA.

Security Service Provider (SSP) membership

This category was described for suppliers of supply-chain security services or products to organizations manufacturing, transporting, storing, warehousing or insuring theft-targeted goods. The original article identified SSP membership as non-voting.

Historical membership fees

The original article quoted annual full voting membership fees on a January–December calendar-year basis. The following historical amounts are not a current price list:

• Corporate membership: USD 1,800, covering up to six people.
• Individual membership: USD 600.
• Security Service Provider membership: USD 5,000.

TAPA AMERICAS — current membership fees and conditions

Membership application process described in the original article

1. Complete and submit the membership application, selecting the appropriate category.
2. After board approval, receive acceptance and the membership invoice. The original article suggested processing within about one month; this is not a current service-time commitment.
3. Pay the approved membership invoice using a method accepted by TAPA. The original article mentioned cheque or online payment.
4. Use the membership benefits provided by TAPA.

The original TAPA AMERICAS description required majority board approval and stated that TAPA could accept or reject applications. Applicants should confirm the current eligibility, approval process, fees and terms with the relevant regional organization.
