Steps to implement ISO 9001

Stage 1: Preparation (0.5–1 month)

• Establish the ISO steering committee.
• Assess the organization’s existing management system.
• Provide awareness and interpretation training on ISO 9001 requirements.

Stage 2: Develop the documented system (2 months)

• Guide the preparation of documentation.
• Review the documents prepared by each department.
• Finalize the documented system.

Stage 3: Put processes into operation (2 months)

• After consolidating, reviewing and revising the documentation, the ISO steering committee approves and issues it.
• Guide process owners in operating their processes consistently and effectively.
• Help process owners monitor and check implementation so that activities at every position follow the issued procedures and work instructions.
• Train the internal audit team. Internal audits give management an effective means of checking and improving the organization’s quality management system.
• ITVC Global guides and works with the internal auditors to plan and carry out audits of the operating quality management system. These audits identify nonconformities and lead to corrective and preventive actions that address root causes and improve the system.
• Guide the ISO steering committee in conducting management review of the system’s effectiveness.

Stage 4: Certification audit

• The ISO steering committee gathers information about certification bodies, defines selection criteria, and helps management negotiate, select a certification body and arrange the certification audit.
• Review the management system and prepare documentation and records for the certification audit.
• Guide corrective and preventive actions following the stage 1 audit.
• Guide corrective and preventive actions following the stage 2 audit.
• Obtain ISO 9001 certification.
