Ship condition inspection services

A ship condition survey records the condition of a vessel at the time of inspection. ITVC Global provides full or targeted surveys according to the client's agreed scope.

Scope of inspection

The survey may cover the vessel's management, manning, safety, navigation, pollution prevention and suitability for carrying cargo. Documentation, performance records and class reports may also be reviewed where relevant.

ITVC undertakes independent surveys for shipowners, operators, technical management companies and, where appointed, P&I interests for pre-entry or periodic condition reviews.

Planning the attendance

Checklists and reporting formats are agreed with the client. Attendance is often planned over one or two days, depending on vessel type and size, access, cargo operations and survey scope.

Surveys may be conducted alongside or at anchorage; attendance during a voyage is subject to suitable arrangements. The inspection is planned to limit disruption to the vessel and crew.

Survey report

The report records the findings, relevant document extracts and supporting photographs. Its scope and limitations reflect the areas inspected and the evidence available at the time of attendance.
