Pre-production inspection

ITVC reviews raw materials and components before production. Using the approved sample and specification, the inspection checks whether the factory has selected the required materials, components and accessories. Where applicable, samples of initial or partly completed products are examined for potential defects. Findings are reported to the customer; technical recommendations can help the factory address quality risks before full production.

During-production inspection

During-production inspection is useful for substantial production runs, continuous production, time-sensitive orders and follow-up of concerns found before production. The original service description gives 10–15% completion as an indicative inspection point; the actual timing should match the agreed plan. ITVC examines the production lot and products on the line for potential defects.

Detected deviations are reported with recommendations for corrective action. Previously identified issues can be rechecked to assess whether the corrective measures have been implemented effectively.

Final random inspection

Under the arrangement described here, final random inspection takes place after production is complete and the goods are ready and packed for shipment. Products are sampled under the agreed sampling plan to check relevant characteristics such as quantity, workmanship, function, colour, dimensions and packaging. Results are compared with the agreed acceptance criteria. Sampling provides evidence about the inspected lot; it does not guarantee that every item is defect-free or that every regulatory obligation has been verified.

Loading supervision

An ITVC representative observes loading, verifies quantities and checks handling against the agreed requirements. Sealing arrangements and any ITVC identification are recorded where included in the service scope. Supervision helps identify shipment risks and provides a record of the loading activity; a seal alone is not proof of product conformity.

On-site checks and production monitoring

The checks performed on site depend on the product, available equipment and agreed inspection scope. They may be included before, during or at the end of production, for example:

• Barcode verification.
• Protective-earth continuity testing.
• High-potential (Hi-Pot) testing.
• Power-consumption checks.
• Power-on testing.
• Water-rub testing.
