Key Activities for Implementing ISO/IEC 17025

ITVC Global provides specialists to guide, train and support laboratories in implementing a management system in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025.

Scope of support

1. Provide awareness training on ISO/IEC 17025 requirements for the departments involved.
2. Design a laboratory management system that addresses ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
3. Train and support the laboratory in developing appropriate management system documentation, including a management manual where useful, procedures and work instructions.
4. Review laboratory documentation and help identify suitable improvements.
5. Train and guide laboratory personnel in applying the management system to the relevant testing activities.
6. Monitor implementation progress against the laboratory’s documented arrangements and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
7. Train laboratory staff to conduct internal audits of the management system.
8. Conduct internal audits together with the laboratory’s audit team and support appropriate corrections, corrective actions and risk-based prevention.
9. Arrange independent specialists to carry out a readiness assessment before the accreditation assessment.
10. Assist the laboratory with its application for accreditation under the VILAS programme.
11. Review accreditation assessment findings and help the laboratory address any outstanding issues.
12. Support completion of the accreditation process. The accreditation body independently decides whether to grant accreditation and determines its scope.
